93 Octane fuel (Super Unleaded out here) isn't a bad thing to run in the
Dak's. 120...is definitley the wrong idea.
So has someone actually run a complete timing curve check on the Dak's to
see whether or not the Knock Sensor is actually working?? On older Chrysler
(Computer Controlled) Vehicles (GM & Ford included here), the Knock Sensor
(located on the block) would advance the timing until it "pinged" and then
back it down until stopped throughout the 2000-5500 RPM range. Running
Higher octane fuel usually gave slightly better performance...to a point.
I'm not saying that we should pour some "Mechanic in a can" Octane Booster
in our tanks...but try it and see what happens. Especially you DML'ers with
access to Dyno's. Put the vehicle on the Dyno and check it with 87 and then
93 (or 92) octane fuel...Don't forget to put the printouts on your websites.
(I don't have access to a Dyno so I can't do it.)
