I didn't install mine myself (too lazy, I mean busy to do so), but my
installer found it much easier to remove the seat for installation. It
only took him 2 minutes to put it back on, so I can understand how the
removal far outweighs the pain of working around it. As for an amp board,
I've never used one, and neither have my friends, except as a shelf under
the rear deck in the trunk of a car. I don't know why you would need one,
unless the surface is very uneven.
