The Pontiac Sunfire GT comes with a Twin Cam 2.4L that puts out 150hp &
155 pft torque stock. They "easily" run 0-60 in the 7.5 second range and
quartermile in the 15.5-15.8 range with no modifications AND a five speed
transmission. Empty weight of a J-body with Twin Cam is only 2,670 pounds. My
car has a custom intake w/K&N, fabricated intake box w/baffle removed,
functional ram-air hood, larger throttle-body, header, exhaust system, ported
head, under drive pulley, Nology ignition, IAT timing tricker (more advance),
shortened shifter and 17 inch whels and tires. According to dyno testing I did
last year, the car puts 170hp to the ground as well as 165 pft torque.
According to G-tech, 0-60 dropped into the 6.6 second range and quartermile
14.85@95 mph.
