I used to have a similar popping which I also thought was normal. I
realized the TB was not properly torqued down when originally installed.
This was realized after removing the TB for a cleaning one day. After
re-installation, there is no more popping sound when decelerating.

alright i didn't see his original question but regarding popping
exhaust,......... and i'm sorry if i repeat his question,....... but i've
got
a five speed and say i leave it in second and she's slowing down from about
2,500 rpm's it'll do that popping sound,............. so you're saying
that's
normal??? It;s puzzled me forever
