I leased one, and bought one. We leased the CC, in a 5 year
deal (to keep the payments down)... After two years we plan
on purchasing the truck, which will put the payments about $45
less per month for a 48 month purchase (with 2000 down).
If in 2 years we decide (gasp) that we don't want to keep the RT,
we will be able to easily sell it for more than the residual, and
actually put some $$$ back into our pockets.
My RC was purchased recently, cause I rack up the miles, and
will keep this truck for 4-5 years... so a purchase was the only
way to go for me.
If you lease, and put 20-25k a year on vehicles now, you can avoid
the $.15 penalty of mileage over the limit by purchasing them ahead
of time ... Adds a few $$$ to the monthly payment, but gives you a
higher mileage limit, and actually lowers the residual (if you plan on
purchasing at the end of the lease).
