You are right, they are not heard, but are felt as vibrations. These
can be nice in tight spots (like a RC), because they can help out
smaller speakers buy giving the illusion of low bass through vibration
and impact from their movement. Most 6.5" mids can reproduce the upper
harmonics of a bass hit, but miss the low stuff that we feel. Bass
shakers fill this in with the vibration. They can even help out big
subs. My brother was part of a team who worked on a 89 Cavalier for
1.5 years as a show vehicle. He had 3 Rockford Punch 12s and either 1
or 2 pairs of shakers. You could tell the difference when they were
     off. Quite impressive.

I'd recommend getting them if you want some more "thud" to your
system. I'm looking for a set to. I'll be putting 4 - 12s in the bed,
but I want the shakers under the front seats to give some up-front
"bass", to go along with the 6.5 component set in the kick panels. I
think the IASCA judges will like it.

Steve (smokindakota), is the $70 for just the shakers or is the amp
included? I don't need the amp.
