I'd have a hard time believing that the Ford SVT group would put out a
vehicle with the SVT lable and no Mods. We test drove a Contour SVT when
shopping for a car for my wife. The salesdude kept asking if I wanted to
test drive it (My wife was driving, & she can wail on a car pretty good).
Anyway, I hopped in & convinved him not to EVER let me test drive one of his
cars again! Lit the tires up all the way thru 3th gear! The SVT cars are big
improvements over their standard siblings. Yeah, they are Fords, but a
little overenginering can go a long way.
(Oh yeah, we ended up getting the Gran Prix GTP - Contour was too small).

Might of been SVT. Think it stands for Special Vehicle Team or $hitty
Vehicle w/ Tires:). Whatever you wanna call it. I have seen a few Countour
SVT's around here, and of course the Mustang Cobra SVT. Haven't seen any
Ford Truck SVT, though. I have seen the "Special Nascar Edition F-150". I
think it only comes in black, with black rims and yellow lettering on the
tires. Never bothered to stop at the dealer and look. Besides its a FORD,
why waste my time. Might of been a wanna be RiceBoy. Maybe if I put the SVT
decal/emblem on my truck people will think it is faster. You know the deal.
