Well if you are running the stock size tire, LT235-75R15's, these are about
28.5 inches tall. I own a 93 Dakota 4x4 V6 with the size mentioned above and I
have no doubt I could fit 31x10.50's without any problems, may need to crank
up the torsion bars about 3/4-1", but thats no biggie. I think the problem
though would be at full suspension compression, that the 31's might and most
likely would hit the fender wells. I think on my Dak, in the rear, the
bumpstops are about 4" from the axle, so by increasing to a 31" tires, which
is about 30.5 actual inches tall, you might just be ok at full compression. I
think this would also be applicable to the front axle, as long as the torsion
bars were adjusted alittle. A 4x4 magazine awhile back put 31's on a stock
suspension Dakota and did nothing else but adjust the tbars. Hope this helps.
