I believe the heat transfer is only an issue with a carburetor. Fuel in the
bowl will heat up from manifold heat. Phenolic spacers help keep the fuel
cooler. With our FI, I dont think this would be a problem. Only benefit of a
spacer, regardless of material, would be the longer intake tract. I also
think that a material with as close to a heating and cooling cycle as the
manifold and TB material would be ideal to avoid leaks and possibly loosening
of the TB. We also need longer bolts!!!!!!!
