Re: Dakota not running to good

I had an 87 Dak 3.9 auto LE (103,000 when I trade it on my 95 dak 4x4),
and it sounds like yours--all except the stall problem. I always had to
let mine warm up a few minutes. Also had to give it gas before
starting---I've never had a carb that I didn't. So that stuff is not a
big deal. I would give it a tune-up. Stuff like plugs(champion truck),
wires, dist. rot. pcv valve, fuel filter(this is all cheap stuff). Then
clean the carb. good with carb/choke cleaner---use a half a can or
better--it may smoke, but stay on the throttle cable so it won't die.
Then I would run a fuel additive the next couple tanks of gas. Run good
gas--at least plus everytime. Clean the carb every couple months.
That's all I can think of at the moment. If I think of anything
more--I'll let you know. My 87 would get better than 20mpg
highway--everytime. My 95 won't. Good luck.
