Hey All,
Went to the track after church today and got to do 4 runs. For those
who don't remember my R/T is a 1998 Flame Red Club Cab. The mods are
Throttle body, JBA headers, Ram Air, BFG Drag Slicks and 180 thermostat.
The first run I left the trans in drive with over drive off. For some
reason the 2-3 shift occurred at about 4200 rpm. I thought since I had
the lower profile BFGs on (1" lower) maybe it was thinking time to
shift.
It also did this on the way to the track. Other than that the run went
well. Those BFGs really hook up! No 330, 1/8 mile of 1000 ft times :~(.
Capital Raceway said those timers won't be hooked up until the season
officially opens since the timers keep getting stolen. Here is the time
from the first run. This run was done with tailgate up and spare tire
attached (nothing removed from the truck).

14.80 @ 90.63 mph

Second run I stuck the sifter in 2nd and manually shifted to 3rd
at 5,000rpm. Again it hooked up great. This run was also done with
tailgate up and spare tire attached (nothing removed from the truck).

14.71 @ 91.12 mph

The third run I was hoping to drop into the 14.6 rang by dropping
the spare and lowering the tailgate. No such luck. The truck started
to hook and then completely started spinning.

15.2 @ 90.48mph

My forth and final run I reinstalled the spare put the tailgate up
and decided to manually shift in all gears (bad idea). Well it
spun off the line I got traction and the hit the rev limiter as I
was shifting to 2nd. I shifted into third at 5300 but bouncing
off the rev limiter really hurt my time.

15.12 @ 90.32

In hind sight I think shifting at 5000 would have given me my best
time since it really doesn't have much after that with the mods
I have on it right now. Anyway if you want to see the two best
time slips click this link and then click "new time slips"
