<< I bought a 97 Dodge Dakota about a year ago brand new as a close out deal,
I
got the Dakota base model 2.5 liter in line 4 cylinder only cause it was a
graduation present. I was not really too interested in racing at the time,
and as time passed I became more and more interested in racing, but realizing
I only have a 2.5 liter 4 banger...racing its not too much of an option, my
question is I was wondering what else I can do for my 4 cylinder, so far I
have a dynomax turbo muffler to replace my stock muffler, I kept my 2.5 inch
exhaust pipe but put on a chrome tip on it to make it look a little better, i
also replaced my stock air filter with a k&n, I am not running the open k&n
setup just the regular k&n filter.. I ran my quarter time not at a track
though so its not oficial, I was running about 60 mph at the quarter not sure
the time something like 21-22 seconds, with my few mods, I ran the quarter
now
in 20.2 seconds at 75 mph, not bad little improvement but, I am not satsfied,
even t hough I know I can whip the tail off a s-10 4 cylinder and some other
4
cylinder trucks.. What else can I do, any tips would be appreceited...

Hey a Dak is a Dak is a Dak! Needing some mods eh? I am not too sure about the
construction of your air inlet system on 4cyls, but how about some throttle
body work? Can you open your air filter system and adapt a 360 degree open
element system?? How about a good set of wires and plugs? I am running MSD
8.5MM Super Conductors. Maybe a hotter ignition coil, I am running an Accel
Super Coil, #140021. Hmmm what else fellow DMLers???
