Subject: DML: 4x4: Can you smoke 'em?

Question for those of you who own 97+ 4x4's with V8, 31x10.5 tires, and 3.92 gears:

Can you smoke the tires in 2WD?

I installed JBA headers last week, and did a burnout test a couple of days ago. It seems from a stop and no power braking that I get a couple

of black strips about 5 feet long...none of this "I can burn the tires all the way to Phoenix" stuff. Just curious.

thanks, fish

Better'n my 98! From a dead stop it will squeal the tires, but not smoke them. Power braking can turn them loose tho. Mine is a 98 V8 4x4 with the 31x10.50, but only the 3.55 LS. The gear really helps you! I wish I had the money to put 3.92 or 4.11's in mine. Then I'd put some 33x12.50 on it!
