James,
Could you have one of those dreaded "dropped from the truck" vehicles,
refurbished as a "new" vehicle??? I cant imagine any reason for your
windshield to crack other than too tight a clearance with the window frame
and additional frame flexing... Is there any suspicious looking body panels
on the truck (bondo, funny paint texture?) Maybe a trip to an independent
body shop for some forensics is required?
Heinously,
BKBridges

Once again I'm on the phone with Chrysler. My 98 Dakota R/T has the broken
windshield....4 times now!! I've told them about the vibration in the drive
shaft, the clunk in the steering wheel, the shift lever never lining up, and
I have a damn screw somewhere in the frame rolling around driving me
crazy!!!!!!!! Can you say, just give me a damn 99 and we'll call it even!!
They don't even want to get me started:-) So here I am in such a good mood
on a Thursday morning....hope everyone else is having better luck!
