Traction Aids

Leaf spring vehicles are tough. Getting the drag radials will definitely be a step in the right direction. The best way is to use a traction bar. This keeps the leaf from having to absorb the reaction torque from the axle. Another aid is to use a 'drag' type shock. These are valved to allow the front end to raise quickly and the rear end to squat, allowing more weight transfer to the rear, i.e. increase traction. I don't recommend driving around on the street with this shock setup, it will be a scary drive.

Is there any way to increase the traction in a 95 model 2wd Dakota. I've got
a 3.55 rear end and limited slip w/ 245/60 R15s (BFG). Through 1st & 2nd it
spins uncontrollably. The only thing I have been able to come up with is
possibly putting some of those BFG Drag Radials on there, I've heard they work
pretty well.
