Subject: DML: lower ball joints

Is anybody on the list a mopar tech?
I had my truck inspected last week
and it failed because the ball joints are
going bad.
It is still under waranty so i took it to the
dealer, they said the ball joints are
fine and that they are designed to have
a little bit of play ,but if you jack the truck
up you can move the wheels all over the
place I thought the ball joints shouldn't have any play at all.
if anyone could confirm this I would
greatly appreciate it.
thanks in advance.

I don't work for Dodge, but I have a 98 4x4 CC Sport. I noticed the front end made a noise when I ran into a small pothole. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the lower control arms and ball joints. Said there was a bulletin but not a recall. The lower ball joints were really loose in it. Take it back and ask them about lower control arm problems. It fixed my noise....only took them 3 freaking days to do it, tho.
