Re: Suspension lift vs. Body lift

I have an ' 88 4x4 with a Trailmaster 3" body lift. I also tweaked the torsion
bars up a bit.
It lets me run 31x10.5 all terrain. The lift was actually very easy to
install.I've heard lots of horror stories about body lifts and brake lines,
wiring harnesses, tranny cooling lines, and such. All that was really involved
aside from the blocks was cutting the lower 1/3 off the fan shroud, adding
extended steering and trans linkage, and a extention for the transfer case
shift knob. Everything came with the kit that was needed for the install. So
far the only draw back is that headers (Edelbrock anyway) will hit the
steering shaft now. I've thought about raising the engine mounts 1 1/2" to
allow clearance. Any other ideas would be appreciated also. If it were offered
I would install a suspension lift as it would allow added axle articulation
and the body lift does not.
