a reduction of 200 to 300 pounds can improve 1/4 mile acceleration times
between 1/4 and 1/2 second and this is typically equivalent to 30 to 50
extra hp

The vehicles
Mine is a 1999 R/T CC, with JBA headers, 2000 miles
His was a 1999 R/T RC, Tonneau cover, 3500 miles
We lined up at old Harlem an industrial park and had a guy out there to
get us started, we both took off and spun our tires I had him by about
1/2 a truck, we hit about 40 and pull even and from there he just kept
on pulling away about a truck length before we shut'em down. The only
thing I could think of is the tonneau cover and the extra 1500 miles he
has on his truck, plus it weighs 300 pounds less. I guess I just need
more go fast goodies.
I weighed my truck the other day and it weigh 4,085 lbs with 1/2 of gas,
no passengers.
