I called Terry Delong this morning and asked him how the SHAKER hood was
coming along for the 97+ Dakotas .
He admits that they are still working on one of the molds and that we
should just keep bugging him about it......he said he works better with a
couple of feet up in him , hehehee .
I told him that the DML would have no problem making him look like a
three-legged man....two shoes on his feet and one in his butt .
Anyway , he said that there was someone in Indy that was planning on going
down for the test fit of the hood as soon as they get to that point , is
that person on the list ? You lucky bastard !
Anyway , we talked a bit about the dreaded 97+ SBEC and he offered some
insight .
He said that the gov't is forcing DC to make it where when you buy an SBEC
that you have to go to the dealer and have the VIN burned into the new SBEC
!! They apparently want to know what is being driven on the truck and at
what point .
To all you people that think there is nothing to worry about with the gov't
"watching out" for us , just remember that big brother is watching !
Anyway , he said that the 98+ trucks should not have a problem doing this ,
but for some reason the 97 trucks do not have the capacity to identify the
truck by VIN in the SBEC or something to that effect .
Anyway , he also mentioned that they are having problems passing EPA ,
could this be the problem ?
