I've heard a great place to offroad in NC is Uwharrie National Forest near
Charlotte, great 4x4 trails and they have bypasses for some of the really
difficult stuff. I'm part of the Central NC 4x4 club, and they drive to
Uwharrrie all the time, although I have yet to drive those trails
personally...
