My 98 5.2 5spd idle fluctuates the same way. I noticed it the first time
I drove home from the dealer. Doesn't seem to have caused any problems
in the last year - the auto trans guys don't have this problem.

How about exhaust rumble/sputter/popping during engine braking
situations, have you noticed that one yet, or have they improved that
'feature' with the 99's. Another problem that the auto-trans folks don't
experience.
