With all the interest in shift-kits for our trucks, I'd like to say
that I'm quite happy with the way mine shifts. It's actually quite
firm and lunges the truck into second with gusto. I think Alan S. with
his R/T said the same thing. No shift-kit for me. My brother had a 84
Z-28, 305 with 4 spd. auto. that he bought off a lot used and was
supposedly bone stock. That was the hardest shifting auto I've ever
seen! The 165 hp 305 could crack the tires into second at almost any
rpm. Consequently, by 110,000 kms, a nasty clunk developed in the
tranny, and he couldn't keep the throttle pinned during shifts. Felt
like someone was kicking the console from underneath. Didn't really
want to pin the gas anyway, it blew so much blue smoke it would kill
all the vegitation :O)
