Mark,
It will take a while for the engine to break-in. Even after the initial
break-in, your mileage will still continue to increase for a while. When
mine was new, I was lucky to get 16.5. It mostly averaged between 15-16mpg.
Now I average 18-19mpg. Give it a while, it will get better.

I have been testing my mpg and I am getting right around 11 or 12 mpg. I
have a 99 4x4 5.2 v8 and I have been driving like a grandma. Anybody have
ideas why so low???
