when I bought my Flowmaster I asked the muffler guy about this hole and
he said that these highflowin' mufflers get pretty hot and usually the
water evaporates pretty quickly. That;s just what he said, though... I
touched my Flow on accident once... I beleive him =)

I can't speak for Borla, but the Gibson I put on my '96 doesn't have
this hole. (My stock exhaust did though.) I briefly considered drilling a
hole in there, but decided not to. The Gibson is aluminized, so that'll
help as far as rust goes, and also, I believe it has a lifetime warranty,
so if it rusts out I'll just get another one for free... :-)

The Borla is stainless, so that's even less worry.
