Anyone happen to catch the one-week late broadcast of the final round of
the Kragen-Schucks races from Phoenix last Sunday? There was an
interesting note. Bob Frey was talking with Jim Yates (Pro Stock) about
drag racing your street vehicle. Yates said he used to do this all the
time with his old rustang. Anyway, Frey asks what one should do. the
first thing Yates says is, "Get an automatic transmission so you can get
all of the power to the ground." Now I'm not repeating this to start that
stick/auto war all over again. I prefer a stick but have an automatic
(all that I could get at the time). I'm just reapeating it as I found it
interesting coming from someone who probably knows a little about what
he's talking about.
