That is not true. You run the risk of damaging the tranny. There are many brands that make 7176+ compatible fluid. A good resource to check out why there are different standards....Type F, Type FA, Mercon, Dexron II, Dexron III is red line's web site. They give all the fluid characteristics. Auto tranny fluid has to lubricate, cool, AND provide enough friction for the clutches to work. This friction coefficient is the main difference between types and why Mobil even says that Mobil 1 is NOT suitable for Mopar 7176+ requirements.
