I just got off the phone with the service advisor. He said that the rotor
was not cracked, but did have a jagged line on the rotor from pad imprint.
What????? Second he said that the 98 4X4 Dakota does not have the splash
shield listed in the parts breakdown. I asked him why the 97 4X4 Dakota did,
and so did the 99 Durango 4X4. He could not answer that, but said he would
call a Dodge engineer tomorrow for clarification. Of course they also could
not duplicate 5 of the other 7 things I took it in for as well. Is that any
real surprise? I'm starting to lose faith in these guys. I really think that
the only thing a warranty is good for is if something blows up leaving a
hole in your hood, or flat out fails leaving you stuck on the side of the
road.
