I may be wrong but I always envisioned the engineers as pretty good guys,
but it's the bean counters that force them to design all the crap like this.
My parent's riding lawn mower is like this. Everytime I use that thing I
can't help but think that no self-respecting engineer would have designed
that thing the way it is, it's got to be the bean counters who force them to
design the machine so cheaply...
