I am still craving more information about the fitment of late model 15 x 8
wheels (i.e. '97 up) onto an earlier model Dakota ('92 in my case). I have
heard from different people that there "may" be a problem with fitment, or
that there "will" be a problem with fitment, due to different backspacing on
the early vs. late model wheels. Does anyone know the actual specifics, such
as the actual backspacing of the two different style wheels, and if there are
fitment problems, where do they occur? Is it a case of the wheels hitting the
control arms, or is it more of a tire fitment problem, where the tires will
hit the inner fenderwell, or something like that? If it's a case of large
tires rubbing on the front (i.e. 275/60's), I may be able to run with more
narrow front tires (235's or 245's), and 275/60's on the back.
Again, any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve Menendez
