OK, I think I see where Alan is coming from. Alan, you have an R/T correct?
The R/T is the only factory equiped dual inlet cat Dak. So, the kit Alan
bought has two down pipes that terminate into the individual cat inlet
pipes. Those of us that have a 318 with stock cat receive a true Y-Pipe
because the downpipes terminate at a collector that joins the two headers
together into a single cat inlet pipe.
Clear as mud now?

It seems like either way I go it draws a question."so called" was added
because it is really 2 seperate pipes attaching the header collectors to
the front of the dual inlet cat.
A "traditional" y-pipe is one pipe joining both manifold collectors to
the front of a single inlet cat, it's shape is a "Y".
Either way, there are NO shortcomings using the Leach/Mopar headers and
whatchamacallit pipe.
