You've got the chronological order correct .
They *now* spray the clear while the color is still tacky.
Wait about a month to wax.
Color sanding is before clear, but probably will not be done at all.

I am having my truck (1997 CC 4X4) "touched up" for some thin paint in a few areas. I am curious about the steps needed for a paint job that is the same as one from the factory. Does it go something like...
    1) sand
    2) paint
    3) clear coat

If so what is the wait between paint and clear coat?
Does the clear coat get waxed immediately?
Someone mentioned color sanding, does that happen before or after the clear coat?

    Thank in advance,
