Usually the tires are the limiting factor. If you can "lock up" the brakes or
trigger the ABS, a wider contact patch will improve braking. Autocrossers and
other racers need brake mods to improve brake cooling and reduce the resultant
fade. On the street or drag strip this is not an issue.
