Its really the same ideal and principle that any other profession abides by.
Lawyers don't charge lawyers, doctors don't charge doctors, dentists don't
charge dentists and so forth. True, if cops are supposed to be enforcing laws
then they too should abide by those laws they enforce. However, that will
only happen in an ideal society, which the U.S. is nowhere near. Cops look
out for other cops, because who protects them, other cops do. Do unto others
as you want them to do to you.
