Alan,
The 3000GT VR4 has a VERY linear powerband. Peak torque (307 pft is
all available at 2500 rpms). I wasn't too impressed either (with the power
delivery) until you watch the speedo climb. It's very quiet and refined
inside. Almost like a Mercedes. Even the '91-'96 VR4s ran in the 13.90-14.0
range WITHOUT side stepping the clutch at 7000 rpms. Take a half second off
for that free modification/technique!
