More on the Heater core

Now that I am a little calmed down, I seem to remember a syrupy smell(like
maple pancake syrup) coming from somewhere inside the cab when I first start
the truck. This began about 2 weeks ago and I thought it was just the
carpet, but now that I think about it, it could have been the heater core.
Any ideas? After arguing with the customer service manager, I am forced to
pay the 2 hours of labor. What other choice do I have? I need my truck ASAP
and the nearest other dealer is about 25 minutes away.
