Yep, unfortunately, majordomo doesn't bounce rejected posts back to the
originator; from the poster's perspective, they just up and dissapear! :-(
That's bugged me for a long time. Fortunately, those days may be over!!! =)

I have just finished writing a program which will parse the rejected
messages and mail them back to the sender with an explanation. I haven't
tested it extensively, but the tests I did run worked A-OK. If this thing
actually works reliably, I think it will be a great help to the list; now
if your posts dissapear, there actually *is* a problem, and you'll know it
wasn't just that majordomo rejected them and threw 'em away.

Here is an example of a message you might receive from the "DML Message
Bouncer":

Subject: Your message to the Dakota Mailing List was rejected!
Reply-to: jon@dakota-truck.net

Hello! This is an automated response. You are receiving
this message because you have recently sent a post to
the Dakota Mailing List, which has been rejected by the listserv.

There are many reasons why your message may have bounced.
Sending a binary attachment, sending a message in a format
other than plain text, or trying to post when you are not
officially subscribed are a few of the more common reasons.

The exact reason why your post was bounced is as follows:

<<<<<

    Non-member submission from [Linda Steiger
<lsteiger@csclub0.cs.fredonia.edu>]

>>>>>

Hopefully the above reason (copied directly from the listserv)
will be sufficient for you to be able to figure out what the
problem is. If so, you can correct the problem and re-send
your post (if applicable). Your original post is appended
to the end of this message, so it should be a simple matter
of cut 'n paste to re-send it.

However, if you have any questions or problems, please
feel free to contact the administrator of the list for help
or more information. Replying to this message should
send a message to the right person, or just send your message to
jon@dakota-truck.net. (Jon Steiger)

Here is your original post:

As you can see, it sends a little help, the reason majordomo rejected it,
and it includes the original message at the end. Here's hoping this thing
works like its supposed to! :-)

Note: If you send a message to the list and its rejected, it won't be
returned to you right away. There *will* be a delay. It might be several
minutes or several hours, but it'll get back to you eventually. :-)
