RE: DML v6 versus v8 wiring

Hey Austin,
I also have an 88 Dak 6er, but it's a 4x4 sport. I also am researching a v8
swap and so far I have figured out it depends on your induction system. Carb
of Fuel injection, and also what kind of tranny you use. The tranny (if its
a lock up type) gets input from the SMEC. If you want to leave the wiring
alone and use the existing TB and you can. You just need to re-calibrate the
computer for the v-8. E-mail me if you need more info.

"My towing solution will be to invest in the air bag add-on's that the
lowered
truck people use. They add brackets to the frame side rails at the axle
area,
one on each side of the truck, and install inflatable air bags between
those
brackets and the differential case or spring central perch. They tell me
it
will add 3000# to the suspension's ability to carry a load, far
exceeding the
frames capability. It works similarly to air shocks without having to
give up
the R/T special extra heavy duty shocks. You just air up the bags to
level
out the truck when you are towing or carrying a heavy load and release
the
air when you're not. Chrysler would not allow my dealer to do this
modification, even though my dealer suggested it, as they are worried
about
liability on something that was not "designed here".
The $300 will let an owner retrofit the "air bag solution" I outlined in
a
previous email. Chrysler does not want anyone to do it since it's not
their
design and will try to convince owners to not do it. But these are our
trucks
and we can modify them without a threat of warranty cancellation as long
as
our modification doesn't cause a warranty problem (laws make it so)."

- -OK guys (and girls) It's time for a group buy on Firestone
Airbags!! The $300 Gene
states is more than enough to cover the cost of a basic airbag setup.
If we can get
a significant amount of people to buy, I can get the Sport-Rite kit
(produced especially for
LOWERED vehicles-read "R/T") to you for $200 plus shipping, instead of
the $225 that
I've sold the kit to many people on the DML for. If you are interested,

Easy....

First, make sure you've copied the files into the C:\Program
Files\Plus!\Themes directory.

If you're using Win98 (With or without MS Plus): Control Panels - Themes -
Change it to the Viper Theme. Same thing goes for Win95 if you have MS Plus
installed. With WindowsNT, change the cursors manually with the Mouse
Control Panel. (You'll have to browse for them.)

That's all ya have to do.

Yeah, I found it to be accurate to +/- 1 tenth. Occasionaly its off about 2
tenths to the optomistic side. Mph is always about 2-3 mph high. I got these
results from the 20+ runs I made at Milan Dragway last week.

That's normal. Win95/98 and NT all come with the PLUS! folder anyway.

You can still use the Icons, Cursors, Sounds, and Wallpaper by changing them

are sending MIME messages, they'll get bounced to the bit bucket. I'm not
pointing fingers or anything; actually my mailer strips all the mime stuff,
so I don't even who has or hasn't been sending MIME messages, but I have
received complaints from people that the MIME stuff is garbling up the
digests, so I added a filter to block it.

If you post to the list and your message never shows up, that might be
why. Make sure your mailer is sending in plain text (or ASCII) only.

Thanks!

I was @ AutoZone pickin up some engine paint today, and saw they had a
500degree paint, and a 1200 degree paint, both dyno heat tested(whatever the
hell that is). Anyway, which should I get? I painted the battery tray w/
500(think im safe there) and thinking of doing the fender wells and the
outside (where all the stuff is mounted) in the 500. As far as headers?
Valve covers? Alternator? Engine?

In a message dated 99-05-04 16:22:24 EDT, you write:

<< Where did you get it drilled and how much ? I wonder if the MPI will have
all
those problems ?? Keep us posted as to any gains once you get it back
 toghether . >>

I had one of the MPI intakes on order but got impatient after the fifth, or
was it sixth?, backorder extension put the ETA out in July. Kammer and
Kammer did the work. So far I'm real happy with these guys. Bob Kammer is
very knowledgable about these magnum motors. Look to pay somewhere around
$150 (plus intake), not sure exactly where the price falls because this is
only a portion of the work that Kammer's is doing for me.

I'll post updates on my track times when it's all back together. Previous
best was 15.2@91mph, but this was at 4000 feet. I'm not sure where this
would be if corrected for the altitude, but it''s probably somewhere in the
low to mid 14's.
