Don't know on the '99, but my '95 has no chimes, chirps or buzzers. There's
one little box on the fuse block that does all of this, the previous owner
removed it and I haven't much missed it. Although I have on a couple of
occasions been glad I keep a spare key in my wallet for when I leave the
keys in the ignition and lock the door.
