This is too funny! I can laugh, because I have had similar things happen as
well. You won't hurt anything doing what you're doing. Just don't be
afraid to change your oil the next time.
Get your oil and filter ahead of time (once you know what you need) and
you'll be ok. Once you figure out which filter you are satisfied using,
just keep a couple on hand. I usually have a case of oil setting around
with about 3-5 filters to go along with it. For me, it's easier this way.

I wouldn't stress over the mixing of oil. You can mix Synthetic with Dino
without any problems.
