Messy oil changes

"#2: Removing the filter throws oil EVERYWHERE! Ugh! This is WAY too messy.
I've never gotten this much oil running out of a filter as I unscrew it...
 yuck. Bad Dak! No biscuit!"

A post here a while back suggested that you change your oil after the truck
has been sitting for several hours. This apparently lets all the oil drain
back into the filter and the engine. I had the same problems with a messy
filter removal but now I hardly spill a drop.
