This reminds me of a great story. I sold a Chevy Celebrity (I think it was a 85) to this young lady. Her father changes the oil for her, and to get all the "old" oil out he starts the engine. Needless to say he calls me up and tells me I sold him a car with a blown engine. I almost turn blue from laughter when he told me what he did. I can't help it if he tried to run the motor with no oil and the drain plug removed. He told me and I quote "I was trying to get all the oil out. I only ran it for 5 minutes". How does it go?...DUH!!! I not sure what he did to repair the engine but his daughter was pissed.

What Dr. Pat is saying is not that the engine has to be completely warmed up,
just run for a minute or two beforehand. It's especially nice in the winter,
keeps the hands warm. :} I also run a 1/4 quart through for good measure.
