 I just went and bought a plain, black spare tire cover (the ones
 on SUV's etc.)
 rated for 28" tires and slapped it on. It doesn't cover the whole
 width of the tread, but it's definitely snug and the face of the
 rim is safe. It also looks a little better than the tread hanging
 out under the truck... much sleeker.
 Worked for me. >>
