If I'm not mistaken, the black pipe you get at Home Depot & the like is ABS,
not PVC...
the PVC is white... and and I know it can be painted... my pool when I lived
in Phoenix had the pipes painted black so the PVC did not break down in the
sun (UV sensitive)
I don't think there's any problem w/ painting ABS, either... just use
primer... But I like the black...
