They have recently made public that they will no longer be sponsoring the
Darryl Gwinn/Mike Dunn Top Fuel team after the end of this season .
Speculation surrounds the fact that traditionally , Diamler-Benz (Mercedes)
has always competed in the highest level of competition available to them .

Although it has not been confirmed when , or even if they will be doing
this , it is being seriously tossed around , and I *think* , although I
cannot remember where , that someone said that DC was testing a car at some
track , but don't ask me the car or the track .
Only car they could conceiveably run would be the Intrepid .
After all , if Ford can run a two-door Taurus , which they do not sell ,
then DC can too .
