Mike,
If you're still under warranty, take it in and get the fuel sending unit
replaced; it's bad. This is the infamous fuel pump assembly that fails so
many times.

I also ran out of gas in my 96 Dak Sport. gas gauge showed I had alittle
more then a 1/4 tank of gas, yet I still ran out.. check engine light came
on, and didn't go off until I disconnected the battery for a sec.. then it
was fine.. about 2 weeks ago, I'd run out of gas when my gauge was between
1/4 and 1/2 tank.. so now I fill it up no matter what when it gets close to
1/2 tank. but all the sudden last week when it got to 1/2 and I filled it
up. it only took $11(10.6 gallons) to fill er up. and I still to this day
have no clue whats causing it to f*ck up.
