I have been just using an open-ended wrench and tightening. I spoke to
the fellow who'll be doing work on my engine with regards to torquing
and he just said to tighten as much as possible. I have found that
the extra space gained from removing the spark plug wires the plugs helps
although the one closest to the firewall on the driver's side is
still hard to get at.

I thought the same thing when I read this in the instructions but, with less
than 100 miles on it, I had about a 0.2 sec. improvement in the quarter and
really did not notice any rough idling.
