Hey Jon,

Initial Advance: The base/idle setting...i.e.: 10 degrees BTDC (Before Top
Dead Center) @ 800rpm

Total Advance: The total of your base, vacuum (if applicable), centrifugal
(if applicable), and/or pre-programmed (computer) timing. (Normally this is
anywhere from 32 - 40 degrees BTDC @ 3000-3500rpm
