Alan (or anyone else)....

On the TB/manifold Heat problem, has anyone tried a Phenolic Block (riser
plate) to compensate for some of the heat transfer. This used to work
great on the old Holley Carbs. Also, I noticed that most of the Intake
Tubes are either a plastic hybrid or steel...mine is aluminum (yes, it gets
hot also) but it's not hot to touch even after a long commute.

As for the "Ram Effect", at least on the cone style filters, I haven't
noticed any difference between my 6" K&N cone and the Akimbo Racing (K&N)
"Velocity Stack" cone. (Just some infor for everyone else who may want to
try them....i'm back to my 6" Cone for now.) I can say for certain that
the intake tube assembly did make a small difference in performance
though...however minimal it may be. I hadoriginally tried a 10" round with
a 2" filter and yes, the truck suffered on acceleration...especially when
the engine was nice and hot.
