Outside air, ram air, all has to pass thru the "system" to get to the
combustion chamber. The temp. of the charge (air/fuel) WOULD make a
difference, if it were cooler.
The problem lies in the temp. of the "system" itself i.e. air box, air
hat, t/b intake, injectors, etc., are all super hot.
My overall point is don't get too carried away thinking you're cooling
the intake charge with ram air(an exception would be a Shaker scoop) and
concecntrate more on "cleaning up" the flow of things i.e. kinks in
restrictive "accordian" hoses, s bolts, etc. to get the velocity up and
the turbulence down.
My observations, anyway. Alan S.
