A former dml member used to take out that hood gasket at the track.
I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it couldn't hurt.
As for the blocks, I don't think they're required to get good flow, at
least I haven't heard of it until now.
Try it and see, but beware that these(at least my) Dakotas are made of
beer cans. I dented the front edge of my hood with my palm while
latching my hood. My fault completely, but it is thin metal.
